Gruul

DPS Phase

The DPS phase is the time in which Gruul is being tanked and the raid is regularly
DPSing him.

Growth

Every 30 seconds Gruul will emote and grow in size, increasing all damage he causes
by 15%. This buff will stack throughout the fight and is efectively a time limit on
killing him, which is why high DPS is necessary.

Hurtful Strike

This is the ability Gruul uses approximately every 15 seconds on the offtank. It is
much like Patchwerk's Hateful Strike, causing 12350-13650 base physical damage,
uncrittable and uncrushable. For this reason, feral druids with a large amount of armor
are the ideal class to take the Hurtful Strike. In order for the offtank to be
consistently hit by the Hurtful Strike, it is very important he stays above threat on any
other people that might be in melee range (rogues/DPS warriors). Any person in the
raid taking Hurtfuls besides the offtank is a guaranteed death. Hurtful Strikes also
scale with Growth.

Cave In

Gruul will pelt an area with rocks from the air, much like other AOE effects (Rain of Fire/Blizzard/etc.).
Cave In does 2700 physical damage over 3 seconds and moves around the room for
15 seconds. When one goes down, another goes up throughout all of the fight,
besides for the Shatter phase. To avoid it a player must simply start moving out and
dodging it when they see the obvious graphic. This ability's damage scales with
Growth.

Reverberation

This is an instant cast AoE silence that Gruul will occasionally cast. It is purely random
and silences everyone in the room for 4 seconds. It is resistible, so silence resist
talents are helpful.


Shatter Phase

The Shatter phase starts when Gruul does his knockback and people spread out for
the Shatter. During this phase Gruul does not physically attack anyone. None of the
abilities in this phase are effected by Growth.

Ground Slam

Approximately every 90-180 seconds, Gruul will Ground Slam, knocking a random
number of people in the raid in a random direction. The direction/people he chooses
are completely random.

Gronn Lord's Grasp

Once Ground Slam is cast, everyone in the raid receives the Gronn Lord's Grasp
debuff. Movement speed is slowed by 20% a second for 5 seconds. Rogues can use
Cloak of Shadows to remove this effect.

Stoned

At the end of the 5 second Gronn's Lord Grasp period, players are Stoned and
stunned for a second.

Shatter

During the Stoned period, Gruul will cast Shatter and everyone in the raid will deal
AoE damage to people around them, depending on how far away they are from each
other. People standing right on top of each other will take 9k damage, and in order to
take 0 damage you must be 15 yards away. Shatter can critically hit players.

The key to dealing with Ground Slam and Shatter for all 25 members of the raid to each
have a pre-determined location to be in before the Shatter occurs. After a Ground
Slam, it is every player's responsibility to get to his spot within the five seconds
alotted.Warriors are able to Intercept back into melee range as soon as they get
knocked back by Ground Slam. These people should collaborate with each other to
make sure that they remain spread out for the Shatter.

The remaining members of the raid should find a safe-spot to stand in and not be
affected by the Ground Slam knockback, while being fully able to reach their assigned
location in time for Shatter. When we announce that Gruul's Ground Slam cooldown is
ready, each player should flee to a safe-spot to await the next Ground Slam. Once the
Ground Slam goes off, each player should move to their own designated location before
the Shatter. Here is a diagram of how spots are being assigned by Undercover ORCS,
as well as how to reach these positions from a safe-spot.
